Players should be residents of Richmond and have a permanent address in Richmond on the date of registration to be eligible to register, with a small number of exceptions for "Out of District" players (see below).
The age group a player qualifies for is based on the player's age as of the next January 1st.
Most players are encouraged to play in their own age group, though exceptional players may play up an age group if assigned by the registrar (for bronze teams) or approved by our coaching staff (advanced teams).
As per BC Soccer regulations, the following are the Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Season Age Groups:

Any Out-of-District (OOD) player who has applied in writing to RUFC and received the specific approval of the RUFC Administrator may play for a Richmond team, with a maximum of five OOD players allowed on any team from U14-U18.
In general, the Administrator will give approval for OOD requests if the presence of the player on a Richmond team is for the betterment of Richmond soccer and its players. OOD players must generally be stronger than other available Richmond players, or have some community connection with Richmond soccer, such as living in Richmond previously.
Teams requesting OOD players should submit applications as soon as a player is selected, with the last date for requests being July 15th.
We believe every child should be able to play soccer, regardless of a family's financial situation. Our club has several programs to assist different groups and varying needs, so if you require assistance please visit our Financial Aid page.
