2025 Fall Mini-Kickers

2025 Fall Mini-Kickers Program

This one day a week (Sunday) RUFC skill development program is for girls and boys born in 2020 and 2019.

As a Canada Soccer Quality Soccer Provider, all RUFC programming aligns with the CSA Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model and players will be grouped with an emphasis on extending and supporting the player's stage of development.  There will be an emphasis on individual and small group development, using deliberate practice to develop soccer and physical literacy skills.

If you are looking for team-based programming (placed on a team with a practice and a game - 2 times a week) please go HERE.

The Mini-Kickers is led by RUFC Player Development Manager, Scott Guy.

The Mini-Kickers program provides a curriculum framework for the Club's youngest players focusing on developing:

·         Physical Literacy Skills

·         Emotional, personal and social development

·         Individual ball mastery

·         Cognitive Development

Participation in this program will assist children in developing positive self-esteem, promote a healthy attitude towards physical activity as well as developing basic physical literacy and ball skills.

Weekly Training Overview

Ball mastery – Exercises where players work alone using the ball with high repetition of touches, including moves to change direction, running with the ball, and shooting.

Physical literacy – Fun games incorporating game specific movements. Small sided games – 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3. Fun! Fun! Fun!
