RUFC welcomes players from Richmond, BC and surrounding cities. RUFC offers two streams of play - recreational (U5-U18 Open Development) and competitive (U8-U18 Advanced Development). Competitive teams are by evaluation and selection only. As a Canada Soccer designated Quality Soccer Provider, all RUFC programming mets the Long-Term Player Development ("LTPD") criteria.
For Spring 2025 team-based programming there are two options for players born 2020 to 2007:
U5-U18 OPEN DEVELOPMENT (recreational)
U8-U18 ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT (competitive)
The age group a player qualifies for is based on the player's age as of the next January 1st.
As per BC Soccer regulations, the following are the 2024-2025 Fall/Winter Season and 2025 Spring Age Groups:

Any Out-of-District (OOD) player who has applied in writing to RUFC and received the specific approval of the RUFC Administrator may play for a Richmond team, with a maximum of five OOD players allowed on any team from U14-U18.
In general, the Administrator will give approval for OOD requests if the presence of the player on a Richmond team is for the betterment of Richmond soccer and its players. OOD players must generally be stronger than other available Richmond players, or have some community connection with Richmond soccer, such as living in Richmond previously.
We believe every child should be able to play soccer, regardless of a family's financial situation. Our club has several programs to assist different groups and varying needs, so if you require assistance please visit our Financial Aid page.
