A teammate we can all rely on!
RUFC and the Board of Directors would like to extend a special thank you to Indie Sahota. Indie has gone above and beyond as our Equipment Manager, generously using his own space to store club uniforms and gear. We are incredibly grateful for the personal time he sacrifices each season to organize and distribute equipment to our teams.
ndie’s journey began in England as a devoted Arsenal supporter. Influenced by a childhood coach who taught him that sport is about "how to treat people," Indie brought those values to Richmond in 2000 when his son started playing.
Now, 25 years later, he is still serving the club. While he is a familiar face on the field—helping young players grow and serving multiple terms on the Board of Directors—much of Indie’s most vital work happens behind the scenes.
“Sport isn’t just about winning. It’s about working together, being a leader, and being the person your teammates can rely on.”
Thank you, Indie, for 25 years of dedication!
Feeling inspired by Indie’s story? Come Volunteer with us! We are excited to introduce our new Volunteer Committee, and we’re looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team. As a newly formed group, our goal is to build a positive, inclusive environment that supports all of our youth athletes, on and off the field. Whether you’re interested in coaching, managing a team, helping at games, assisting with club events throughout the year, or lending a hand behind the scenes, every role makes a difference.
If you have any questions or want to join, we’d love to hear from you! Contact volunteer@rufc.ca
RUFC Spring Registration is Open!
RUFC has been selected to host the BMO Girls Play BC! initiative on May 30, 2026, at Hugh Boyd. Only 4 clubs from across BC are selected each year! This program encourages girls’ participation and leadership in soccer through a morning Fundamentals coaching workshop for female coaches aged 14–19, followed by an afternoon girls-only player camp all led by a female Learning Facilitator. Priority is given to CSA Fundamentals age groups, U6-U8, but players up to U10 are welcome. There is no cost to RUFC coaches or players.
Registration will be open in the New Year for eligible female coaches and players. Stay tuned for more information about this exciting initiative!
All players, coaches and managers from the U13-18 teams of the 2025/2026 season are invited. Join us for a night of award presentations, dinner, photos and dancing!
Four U18 Teams are graduating and event organizer, Angela Louis will be reaching out to the U18 families for volunteers to help make the evening special for these players! Alternatively, if you have any questions about volunteering you can reach her at: angelal@rufc.ca

To the RUFC Community,
We want to share an update with you all.
Last Friday (December 5th), we received the attached joint statement from the Richmond Soccer Association (RSA) and Fusion FC. We wanted to share this outcome with you all. I want to acknowledge all those who were involved in bringing this matter to a close and to avoid further time (and money) in the court system. This is a positive step for the whole soccer community.
Looking ahead this provides a framework and a path for the soccer community in Richmond to move forward together.
It has always been about creating a love for soccer at any age and supporting families in Richmond with exceptional soccer programming for all.
Regards,
Tyler Pronyk
President

Richmond United FC is thrilled to welcome Sandher Fruit Packers as the Title Sponsor for the 2nd annual Richmond Summer Solstice Soccer Festival happening June 21-22, 2025!
Sandher Fruit Packers from BC’s Okanagan region will sponsor the tournament as its first interaction with the club, which will lead to a larger involvement through the year.
As part of its “Sandher Feeds Canada” program, the company will both financially donate to the club, but will also provide food to RUFC’s yearly “Free Kickers” program, which brings free football and food to Richmond families.
The food will come straight from Sandher’s apple and cherry orchards on the outskirts of Kelowna; the bounty of which can be found in supermarkets across the country under the SFP brand!

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM!
RICHMOND UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB
Do you have skills, passion, and a little extra time to make a big impact?
Richmond United Football Club (RUFC) is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help grow and enhance our club.
We know RUFC is full of talented individuals - parents, family members, and friends - who bring expertise in event planning, marketing, design, legal work, accounting, logistics, hospitality, project management, translation, and more.
Now, we want to bring those skills together to create our first club Volunteer Committee and On-Call Volunteer Pool that will help shape the future of RUFC by advising, recruiting, and scheduling what we hope will be a strong volunteer force.
Taking part could mean helping out for a few hours in your area of expertise when we have occasional projects that could use your knowledge, or it could be a more regular commitment, be it coaching, managing a team, or helping us set up a fundraising event.
How You Can Get Involved:
Join the Volunteer Committee (7 members) that will meet monthly to help plan and organize key club initiatives.
Be part of our On-Call Volunteer Pool (10-20 people) for occasional help with club events such as our Summer Solstice tournament and special community programs.
Contribute in a way that fits your schedule—without having to commit to coaching or managing a team.
What’s in It for You?
Be part of a supportive community.
Gain valuable experience in leadership and event management
Enjoy volunteer perks like discounted club gear & registration incentives.
Make a lasting impact on young athletes and their families.
Whether you have a few hours a month or just want to lend a hand occasionally, we’d love to have you on board. With our new Volunteer Policy in place, we’re ensuring all volunteers receive proper training, recognition and opportunities to contribute in a meaningful way.
Interested? Reply by completing and submitting the Volunteer Sign-Up Form, and we’ll invite you to an upcoming Zoom call to get started. Let’s build something great together!
