Board of Directors

The operations of Richmond United FC are overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors that are elected by our membership.

The Board strives to uphold the Club's constitution while ensuring that all of the programs operate in a manner that adheres to our stated goal of providing all participants in our programs with a rewarding, enjoyable soccer playing experience.

As of June 2024, the Board of Directors is comprised of the following ten individuals:

RUFC Board Members

Barry Wosk

Tyler Pronyk

Adam Khong

Andy Cobbold

Angela Louis

Garry Marcinowsky

Jason Speers

Richard Wang

Barry Wosk- President

email: barryw@rufc.ca

 Board focus: Chairman

Ask Barry about soccer and he'll stop you mid-sentence and tell you, he knows less about the sport than his kids. A long time water polo enthusiast, Barry came to RUFC out of a desire to ensure his kids got the best soccer programming possible, and that interest has led him to take a deeper involvement in the club.

By day, Barry runs a local audio/electronics manufacturing and distribution company and has done for 30 years, and he's also put in five at RUFC, first as a board member, then treasurer and Chair, as well as district representative and BCCSL board member for a time.
Barry was a fundamental part of the merger process that formed RUSC out of the two legacy clubs, and is part of the group stick handling our strategic review process.

Tyler Pronyk- Vice-President

email: tylerp@rufc.ca

Board focus: Governance and Strategy

A father of four with two kids in the RUFC program, Tyler's public affairs, human resources, and public consultation experience has steered RUFC's strategic review panel and streamlined board operations in ways not normally seen at a volunteer organization. The number of post-it notes that have died so that RUFC can thrive is incalculable but has been for the greater good.

An MBA with a specialization in strategic communications, Tyler has consulted with a litany of small to medium-sized businesses, non-profits, and political campaigns, but that carries far beyond youth sports. Tyler's connections in the community, his drive to build that community, and his work within the community are also felt in the arenas of housing and food security, immigrant services, environmentalism, and the fight to end MS.

Adam Khong- Secretary

email: adamk@rufc.ca

Board focus: Operations

A longtime Richmond resident and advocate for youth sports, Adam has deep roots in the community and is committed to fostering positive athletic experiences for local players.

Adam has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, specializing in commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional projects, and he brings strong leadership, project management, and strategic planning skills to the RUFC Board.

Adam’s involvement with RUFC began in 2017 when his son, Hunter, joined the club. Since then, he has taken on multiple leadership roles, including coaching his son’s team and serving as the General Manager for all the boys' teams in the Advanced Development Program. Holding the necessary coaching accreditation, Adam brings both a strategic and hands-on approach to player development.

Andy Cobbold- Director

email: andyc@rufc.ca

Board focus: Operations and Technical

The only board member whose family have a Premier League stand named after them, Andy is a life long Ipswich Town fan, a 7 handicap on the golf course, and current Club Captain of the Richmond Country Club.

A high level software executive by day, Andy is a respected senior coach at RUFC, looking after two teams currently. He has a pair of children in the RUFC program, has served on the board for three years, also represented the club at the district association, and played at the university level in the UK.

Angela Louis- Director

email: angelal@rufc.ca

Board focus: Governance

If Angela or someone from her family isn't in an RUFC jacket at the fields at least once a day, it's probably a holiday. While Angela is new to the board this year, her involvement with the club goes back 15 years, managing all three of her children’s teams at RUFC, including a team that made Provincials in 2023. Her eldest daughter is an RUFC coach and referee, and her son plays in U17s and is also a referee, and her husband is often drafted into taking photos for the club.

On days where she’s not on the pitch, Angela works as a health care worker at Vancouver

Coastal Health, and in the few hours of the day not taken up by work and the club, she's a regular at the dog park.

Garry Marcinowsky- Director

email: garrym@rufc.ca

Board focus: Discipline and Code of Conduct

Having a background in government and a long amateur playing career that has stretched from youth premier to masters, Garry is relatively new to the board but has worked diligently on anti-bullying initiatives, discipline, complaint policy, and code of conduct creation and adherence.

A long time coach in boys, girls, and adult women's soccer, as well as hockey, Garry has seen the damaging impact of bullying at multiple levels of sport and, while he is relatively new to the board, his deep understanding of best practices in the administration of youth sports is a skillset we rely heavily on to make TUFC the best club it can be.

Jason Speers- Director

email: jasons@rufc.ca Jason Speers

Board focus: Marketing and Communications

Having played and coached soccer for over forty years, Jason is the owner of a local internet service provider, and has a daughter and son playing at RUFC.

Jason played Metro soccer in his youth, including a few years with the BC Team, and today he plays in the Masters League for the Rain City Gunners, and occasionally manages to hit a golf ball straight.

This is his second time on the board at RUFC and its predecessor clubs, and he's also served as a director of the Richmond district association.

His goal at RUFC is to ensure the best possible program for both boys and girls is delivered to as many families as possible.

Richard Wang- Director

email: richardw@rufc.ca

Board focus: Financial and Operations

A two-decade local leader in the commercial and corporate banking world, Richard owns and operates a local financial consulting and advisory firm, and has taken that leadership into youth sports as a coach, director, and club president, for more than a decade.

A pivotal part of the realization of the RFC/RUFC merger, Richard's focus has long been on leaving a legacy for all Richmond kids, helping build programs that grow the game, and expand the accessibility of the club to all.

Having played at a high level in Richmond as a child, Richard has now seen his three children follow suit.

Rishi Sekhon-Director

Board focus: Finance/Compliance

A father of two and a resident of Richmond for over 40 years, Rishi is a CPA with over 20 years of experience in compliance and governance, financial reporting and internal audit in the private and public sectors. His objective as part of the board is to provide financial oversight and help ensure financial decisions are made in the best interests of the organization.
Rishi’s involvement with youth sports began in 2017 when he coached his son with both the Richmond Jets and RFC. Over that period, he has coached his daughter in both softball and soccer and continues to coach with his son’s team in the U13 age group.
